There's something far worse than fentanyl, and that's Zionism. A "substance" to which the entire US establishment is addicted.

There's a school of economic thought (Pettis etc) that the world has too much savings, its sloshing around the world looking for acceptable risk-returns. So far US has been more productive at deploying capital at scale (because tech oligopolies winner-takes-most has financial attractions ... xref Theil's book Zero to One). Conjecture dollars will only reshore if

a) capital controls reimposed (xref Asian Crisis) and bank FX sterilisation halted

b) el Presidento threatens a capital crew-cut (discount) on sovereign holdings of treasuries

c) US-denominated debts are cancelled and flight to safety

The problem is where are the savings (now denominated in another currency) going to go? Eurosclerosis level growth sucks, most developing countries are still mired in corruption and bad business risk, and decent middle-income countries like India/PRC are not exactly convertible.
